Honeywell Launches Its New Aerospace Center & the Graphics are Out of This World

The remodel of Honeywell Aerospace Clearwater goes beyond typical office interiors.

Honeywell Aerospace, leading international manufacturer of aircraft engines, avionics, and other aviation products, called upon us to assist in the environmental design remodel of their aerospace center in Clearwater, Florida — and you can bet that we were up for the challenge!

Our team worked alongside Florida Business Interiors in the first of many rebuild phases for the Clearwater location. We worked swiftly and diligently to transform the office space from top to bottom — starting with glass conference walls and new ceiling tiles and ending with Honeywell-centric carpeting and height adjustable desks.

The goal of the renovation was to touch on the long-standing history and technology of Honeywell, and to provide the Aerospace employees with a workspace that is both innovative and inspiring. The initiative stemmed in recent years after Honeywell hired CEO Darius Adamczyk, who is very conscious of reinvigorating the workplace through wayfinding and strong brand emphasis, while keeping the history of the company alive and well. Adamczyk spearheaded the project with plans to create a more open workspace, while pushing forward Honeywell’s brand culture and making sure the brand message is consistent throughout the Aerospace branch.

Defining Wayfinding

According to the Society for Experiential Graphic Design, “wayfinding refers to information systems that guide people through a physical environment and enhance their understanding and experience of the space.” As spaces have become increasingly complex, people need visuals such as maps, symbols and graphics to help them navigate more efficiently. Wayfinding is especially important in high-stress environments because it gives visitors a sense of well-being, safety and security.

To fully tap into Honeywell Aerospace’s wayfinding potential, we created an interstellar look and feel for their new and improved environment. Images of rockets, satellites, and space and flight related projects were used in conjunction with company catchphrases, such as the “Go Beyond” graphic that features a rocket launch, or “Passion” that stretches across the exterior glass of multiple private work rooms.

Currently, we are in the planning stages of Honeywell Aerospace renovation Phase II. This rendition will feature a state-of-the-art recreation area, foliage and natural decor, as well as a few more electrifying graphics paired with company history and fabricated walls.

We are honored to be a part of such a promising and rewarding project with Honeywell Aerospace Clearwater. We look forward to continuing this partnership to create an open, inspiring workplace that fosters collaboration and innovation. See more behind the scenes footage of Phase I here.
